A Few Reflections from the National WMU Annual Meeting

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3-6

One thing that is special about attending the Annual Meeting for national WMU is seeing friends and meeting new friends who share the same passion for our Lord and missions. This verse from Philippians came to mind as I was reflecting on my recent trip to Nashville, TN, for this meeting and the SEND Conference. There is so much I would like to share, but space won’t allow it.

First, it IS a joy to pray for our missionaries and WMU leaders from around the world. And a special joy is to be able to meet some and hear some share about their work. It truly is a partnership with Christ through prayer.

Second, to hear about the good work that is going on to spread the Gospel is encouraging and solidifies the confidence that Christ is still at work in this crazy world we are living in.

Third, to hear across the age span from young National Acteens Panelists to retired Kingdom servants, we can see how His work has and will continue until the end of time.

We also focused on passing on the passion of Christ, of missions, and of WMU through missions discipleship. Hearing of lives being changed confirms that all we do for Christ is worth it!

During the SEND Conference, we witnessed a commissioning service for 64 new missionaries heading overseas to serve! Many new people to pray for in places that can’t even be mentioned.

I’m grateful that WMUers are praying people and willing to pour their lives into the next generation.
