Mary's House

Through a partnership between WMU of Texas and the World Mission Center at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, missionaries returning home from the field now have a place to call home as they rest and recharge.

Note: Mary's House provides temporary housing for IMB and NAMB missionaries through the Missionary-in-Residence Program at Southwestern Seminary.

Mary's House, a gift from WMU of Texas and the Mary Hill Davis Offering® for Texas Missions is a temporary home with two apartments for missionaries serving stateside.

Mary's House provides all of the comforts Texas residents enjoy with the added bonus of being on a seminary campus with students who can be encouraged and mentored by the missionaries living alongside them.

This opportunity for community, fellowship, discipleship, and encouragement will not only change the lives of the missionaries returning to the foreign field, but the experience will also encourage and shape the journeys of the seminary students they engage with.

"Mary's house is really fantastic. I think, especially when you’re coming off of a long-term mission assignment, which missionaries-in-residence usually are, you are looking for a place to fully relax and de-stress.

As a missionary-in-residence, Mary's House allows us to welcome students in for coffee and meals to really connect with them.

In Belgium, apartment living is quite cramped. There are not a lot of parks, and it rains a lot there, so our kids love playing outside. It’s been absolutely fantastic for our kids to be able to play in the grass, in the sprinkler, and have a space for their toys; they’ve both really had a great year."

Pray for the families who will call this home.
Pray for the children to feel safe and secure in the home.
Pray for a time of respite and renewal for the parents.
Pray for opportunities to speak into the lives of seminary students.
Pray for the lives that will be touched through the ministries of the missionaries who call these spaces home.
Pray for a continued relationship between WMU of Texas and the stateside missionaries as we minister to the needs of the families who live here.
Pray for God's protection over the families who come through this home as they return to the mission field.
