What Are You Looking Forward To?

It seems like “life” is starting to open up again, and it is wonderful! Since we have had months to think about what we will do once everything opens back up, what are your plans? Here are some thoughts I have had:

  • Take a mission trip

  • Participate in a community mission project

  • Help in Vacation Bible School

  • Go back to church

  • Visit family and friends

  • Have family and friends visit you

  • Take a trip or vacation

  • Go to the grocery store without fear

  • Dress up and go somewhere

  • Reconnect with your neighbors

  • (Fill in the blank) ______________________

It is time to move out of “lockdown mode.” As a friend said recently, “It’s like being on lockdown gave us permission to not do anything!” After over a year, that habit may be hard to break. But we can’t continue to cling to the need for permission any longer. It is time to start doing what the Lord has planned for us to do!

While wisdom is necessary, here are a few verses to consider as we begin to venture out:

  • “You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield.” Psalm 18:28b-30
  • “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
  • “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3
  • “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
