Ways to Support Disaster Relief Efforts in Texas

We have received several inquiries from individuals wishing to support disaster relief efforts in Texas following our historic winter event. "This is truly a statewide emergency in every sense of the word,” said TBM Disaster Relief Director David Wells. “Every city, every region of Texas is being affected. We are seeking to provide help, hope, and healing as quickly as possible.”

Although power has returned to many communities in Texas, families around the state are still without water, food, and heat. In some instances, families have lost their belongings or home as a result of the freezing temperatures. How can you help? Here are a few ideas for how you can be the Hands and Feet of Christ, showing love and support for those impacted by the disaster. Consider ministering individually, through your church or alongside your WMU missions-discipleship group.

In Your Community:

1. Pray for the residents, volunteers, first responders, energy workers, government officials, and churches in your community.

2. Reach out to your neighbors. . What are their needs? Do what you can to meet any physical needs they may have, like food, water or medical supplies.

Along the Border:

1. Pray for Texas Baptists missionaries serving along the southern border as they minister. Pray that God will meet their needs and protect them as they serve Him. A list of supplies will be provided soon.
